Part of the group... some had left and some were dancing!
A lot of fun dancing was had by all...

We had so much fun with this GSE Group from Argentina and will miss them.  We cherish the new friendships made and will definitely plan a trip to Argentina some day!   All will have a home to come to in Cushing!  After 4 weeks of touring in Oklahoma, I'm sure they were happy to return to their family and friends back home.  Gustavo and Daniela  I hope you enjoy your extended touring of the U.S.  Until we meet again -- Hugs & Kisses to you all!

"Head for the Cure" 5K Race...

on May 14, 2011

An event we looked forward to... running/walking in honor of our dear friend, Stevie Crowder Patrick, who has faced her challenge with brain cancer.  After battling cancer for this past year, she ran the "Head for the Cure" 5K race with vengeance and kicked butt!

Stevie in Pink-- putting her ear buds in and the race is on!

As the race day approached, we all geared up in our "Team Stevie" shirts...
....without a doubt, Tully was the youngest 5K Racer
5 weeks old!
This was Tully's first trip to travel out of Oklahoma and his longest trip thus far.  We stopped in Norman for a short "Play Day" with Bane Bolen... mostly the boys ate, slept and pooped their diapers, but we'll call it a play day :-)
Two proud Mommies - Jodi, Bane, Tully, Ashley
After Tully finished playing we continued on to Frisco, Texas and awaited our big race day on Saturday.  Fast forward to race time-- here is a glimpse of the start line...
2200+ racers
While several teams entered the race, Stevie had the largest team with 283 members.  It was awesome to see all the pink and black "Team Stevie" t-shirts throughout the race course.  As a team we raised over $11,000 for the MD Anderson Cancer Center.  The total funds raised for the event was over $150,000 which certainly exceeded their expectations for an inaugural event.
Dennis had the energy to run the whole thing
Me, Ashley and John walked the 5K, while Tully rolled along; we all made it to the finish line!
I'm sure Tully got 1st Place in his age group
5 weeks old!
Stevie peeking at Tully's "Team Stevie" shirt
...gotta love her sweet smile!
After the race several of Stevie's family members and friends gathered for a picnic lunch.  The whole day was a bit windy and chilly, but what a nice weekend!  We saw lots of people from Cushing in the Hotel, at the Race, and at the Picnic... we were all there in support of Stevie!

and John sleeping at the picnic.

We love you Stevie!

Tully's Play Day with Bane... his new friend!

May 13, 2011
Headed to Frisco, Texas for the Head for the Cure 5K Race ... but, Tully wanted to stop in Norman to meet his new friend, Bane Alexander Bolen...  well, maybe it was me who really wanted to meet Master Bane!
Bane Alexander Bolen
9 days old... and such a sweet baby!
Tully had to be careful with Bane because he is such a tiny new baby boy.  Tully is 4 weeks older than Bane and weighs about 3.5 lbs more.  Big difference between 6 lbs 6 ozs and 9 lbs 15 ozs.
Proud Mommies with their babies!
Jodi, Bane, Tully and Ashley
One happy family--Jodi, Percy & Bane Bolen!
Once a Grammy... always a Grammy...
I had to get in on some of the lovin' too.
He is so tiny and so precious!
I am so happy happy happy for Percy and Jodi... and Bane is so lucky to have them as his parents!  It will be fun to watch him grow, he is so loved!  I say to the Bolens... spoil him sweet!  I look forward to more play days!

Argentina - Tuesday continues...

Tours continued on Tuesday... each member went to the various profession they chose to see or learn about.  Valeria is a Dance Instructor and Jillian was happy to have her come to the Dance Star Production Studio.
Jillian introduced Valeria to her class
Valeria led the girls in an Argentinian Dance
Cecilia even got in on the instruction (back row)
The girls followed great
They were so happy & excited to learn the dance... they just hugged each other!
Valeria took a group photo with students
Valeria took time to learn one of their dances

Valeria learning...

Cecilia and Daniela were spectators... Valeria completed instruction

Cecilia still dancing...
Mate Time... but we have no Mate cup / straw!
just need some green tea leaves, a tea cup, tea filter, and a straw
...and a little creativity
heat a little water
...and it's Mate Time!  Yeah, the filter worked
Our evening continued with some fun dancing in Stillwater... after a long day of touring!
Valeria & Matias take some two-step lessons from Sara & BJ
Mike and Melisa just have fun
Cecilia gets in on a swing dance with BJ
Gustavo shows Valeria a move or two...

David and Gustavo have a serious conversation
Dennis, Cecilia, Deb
Group Photo at the dance...
Rotary Club from Stillwater came to Cushing on Wednesday morning to pick the group up for their next venture of touring of Oklahoma.
Deb, Cecilia, Dennis ... that sun sure is bright!
One last group photo before leaving Cushing.
Dennis, Valeria, Matias, Gustavo, Deb, Cecilia, Melisa, Daniela
So much fun with the group... it was hard to say goodbye.  We will try to see them twice more before they leave the country and head home.  They tell us to come, it's just hard to work around the time scheduled for other Rotary Clubs without interfering on their time with the group.  We've managed to sneak in one evening with them in Oklahoma City during some free time... will work on that next date for hugs and fun!   :-D    I know we will be planning a trip to Argentina in the future!

...to be cont'd
