I Found a Shark in my Pool...

Memorial Day Weekend
May 28-30, 2011
Tully arrived dressed in his
Red/White/Blue
Such a sweet boy!
But it didn't take long and...
I found a shark in my pool!

He loved the water!
PawPaw introduced Tully to some Splashes...
which he didn't seem to mind at all

It seemed we all tied our heads on because it was so windy!   ... but it was still a great weekend!

It wasn't long before that shark was sleeping!
I think he enjoyed the sounds of the running water and the movement
After his nap and a bath... he had some play time while we ate dinner!
He's such a good boy!
It was so fun to watch Tully experience the pool and all the water splashes... he just seemed to take it all in and have fun with it.  We swam all three days... thank goodness for the pool heater, the temp was just right!

Before John and Ashley headed home on Monday, we gave Tully a bath in the big sink in the utility room...

Zac was curious as to what was going on...
he very calmly stood up to the counter

...and I think Tully was just as curious about Zac!
Most of the time someone is holding Tully...
but once in a while he gets play time in his bouncer.
I sat him down and was just watching him...
...and immediately, both dogs were there to help keep an eye on him!

Our dog, "Baby", is almost 17 years old, and that computes in dog years
for a medium size dog to 136 years old!  She doesn't hear or see very good
and arthritis bothers her some, but she's still doing pretty good!
It was a great weekend... and as I blog, I already miss that little toot!  Can't wait to see him again!

I find it interesting that we were swimming today and as I watch the news -- it is snowing in Oakhurst, California!

LMAO in my Big Boy Blue Jeans...

May 25, 2011 -- 7 weeks old
Grammy, are you taking pictures of me again???
...well then, let me do my usual hand wave!!
...okay, I'll act right!
...no wait, I'll lean this way!
Okay, I'll give you 3 seconds to finish up!
LMAO!!
Grammy takes tons of pics of me and
I try to move my arm or my leg in every pic!
Needless to say, Tully is such a joy and blessing in our lives, and I'm working hard on that
"spoiling him sweet" promise!  He seems to change daily and is growing so fast.

What a Treat...

Sunday, May 21, 2011
Dennis and I got to keep Tully while Ashley and John went out to celebrate a friend's birthday.  It was their first evening out without the baby...  what a treat for us!  I'm so glad we live close.  Tully is such a sweet baby!  Ashley had him dressed in his "Ask Grandma" outfit... which is appropriate for any day!
My Great Aunt Michele made sure Mommy knows the rule...

I'm growing so big, this outfit fits me now.
I'm going to have long legs like my Mommy and Daddy...

                      I can do leg lifts...

....and bunny hops!
...but I'm still little - only 6 weeks old!

I'm pretty squirmy most of the time...
and I love to smile and coo with Grammy!

Time in the Park... everyone snuggles next to Mommy

It got really windy... so we didn't stay long
May 25, 2011

By mid afternoon we decided to get our nails done.  Grammy went first...
...and I figure it is only fair to post a pic of Mommy
taking a nap during her wait!

We had so much fun with this GSE Group from Argentina and will miss them.  We cherish the new friendships made and will definitely plan a trip to Argentina some day!   All will have a home to come to in Cushing!  After 4 weeks of touring in Oklahoma, I'm sure they were happy to return to their family and friends back home.  Gustavo and Daniela  I hope you enjoy your extended touring of the U.S.  Until we meet again -- Hugs & Kisses to you all!

"Head for the Cure" 5K Race...

on May 14, 2011

An event we looked forward to... running/walking in honor of our dear friend, Stevie Crowder Patrick, who has faced her challenge with brain cancer.  After battling cancer for this past year, she ran the "Head for the Cure" 5K race with vengeance and kicked butt!

Stevie in Pink-- putting her ear buds in and the race is on!

As the race day approached, we all geared up in our "Team Stevie" shirts...
....without a doubt, Tully was the youngest 5K Racer
5 weeks old!
This was Tully's first trip to travel out of Oklahoma and his longest trip thus far.  We stopped in Norman for a short "Play Day" with Bane Bolen... mostly the boys ate, slept and pooped their diapers, but we'll call it a play day :-)
Two proud Mommies - Jodi, Bane, Tully, Ashley
After Tully finished playing we continued on to Frisco, Texas and awaited our big race day on Saturday.  Fast forward to race time-- here is a glimpse of the start line...
2200+ racers
While several teams entered the race, Stevie had the largest team with 283 members.  It was awesome to see all the pink and black "Team Stevie" t-shirts throughout the race course.  As a team we raised over $11,000 for the MD Anderson Cancer Center.  The total funds raised for the event was over $150,000 which certainly exceeded their expectations for an inaugural event.
Dennis had the energy to run the whole thing
Me, Ashley and John walked the 5K, while Tully rolled along; we all made it to the finish line!
I'm sure Tully got 1st Place in his age group
5 weeks old!
Stevie peeking at Tully's "Team Stevie" shirt
...gotta love her sweet smile!
After the race several of Stevie's family members and friends gathered for a picnic lunch.  The whole day was a bit windy and chilly, but what a nice weekend!  We saw lots of people from Cushing in the Hotel, at the Race, and at the Picnic... we were all there in support of Stevie!
Stevie, Ashley, Me holding Tully,
and John sleeping at the picnic.

We love you Stevie!
